About Polish Entrepreneurs Foundation
Polish Entrepreneurs Foundation, within which the Amber Business Angels Network functions, was founded in 1997. In the first years until 2003 it functioned as Canada-Poland Entrepreneurs Foundation and was a continuation of the Canadian Government’s project carried out in the field of supporting entrepreneurship in Poland.
Since the beginning of its operations, the main area of the Foundation’s support has been financing micro, small and medium enterprises.
The following programmes have been co-ordinated:
Canadian Loans Programme – carried out in co-operation with local and regional Business Incubators in whole Poland and is directed to the smallest companies with the aim of financing the initial stage of development, current and investment activities. Effects: financing of 718 companies at the initial stage of development with a total amount of 22m zlotys.
Direct Loans Programme – carried out in whole Poland.
Effects: 13 loans worth more than 3m zlotys.
Branch-Network Programme – carried out in whole Poland together with Bank Pekao SA.
Effects: 786 loans worth almost 90m zlotys
Pomeranus Regional Loan Fund and Subregional Loan Funds: Greater Poland North, Griffin, Kuyavian, the Oder, Lower Silesia – carried out in six provinces: West Pomerania, Pomerania, Kuyavia-Pomerania, Greater Poland, Lubuskie, and Lower Silesia.
Effects (for the end of 2008): 1850 loans for an amount of almost 136m zlotys.
Innovation and Investment Fund Pomeranus II Limited Liability Company – venture capital type of fund started by the Foundation in 2007.
POLFUND Loan Guarantee Fund Joint-Stock Company – created together with Bank Zachodni WBK, is the biggest Loan Guarantee Fund in Poland and operates in the whole territory of Poland.
Training and Advisory Programme – carried out in whole Poland.
Effect (results for the end 2008): almost 1500 trainings for 65 thousand entrepreneurs and almost 300 advisory services.
